Any children under THE AGE OF 10 Y/O will need to be accompanied by a NON-SURFING adult for the entirety of the session. A wetsuit can be provided for the adult free of charge.

Booking Lessons Online... it's simple!

Choose from one of our activities and then select whether you would like to partake in either a Beginner & Refresher Group Lesson, 1:1, 1:2 or Private Group Lesson for private groups of 3+ people
Choose the number of participants & number of lessons you require
Select the date & time for your first lesson. If your required date is unavaliable call us on 07361234699 and we'll try our best to book you in!
Enter your details (name, email, phone)
Proceed to our secure payment portal, hosted by Stripe, to pay for your booking.
You'll then receive confirmation via email, and a login to your Evolve Surf School account where you can schedule any additional lessons on this booking and book further lessons if required.

FAQ

What do I need to bring?

In all of our lessons, equipment is provided free of charge. However you will need to bring a towel, swimwear, sunscreen and a drink.

We recommend wearing comfortable swimwear to the lesson to make the changing process quicker and more convenient.

Do I have to pay in advance?

Yes! So we can schedule our small team of instructors, we need to know that lessons are confirmed, therefore we do ask for full payment in advance, unless otherwise agreed with the Evolve Surf School team.

Where are you located?

Being a mobile Surf School, we are able to choose the best location on the day to ensure you have the best session possible!

Our base is on the left side of Gwithian Towans Council Car Park, as you face towards the beach. As mentioned if the conditions make this location unsurf-able; we will look at running from another location. These details will be automatically sent out with your email/SMS confirmation.

How long are the sessions?

All of our Surf Lessons are 2 hours long apart from our Surf Days, Surf Camps and Surf Club Courses.

We ask you turn up 20 minutes prior to your lesson to ensure good time to allocate your equipment.

Will I be safe?

All our Instructors are ISA and/or ASI qualified as well as qualified and experienced Beach Lifeguards with vast amounts of ocean knowledge. All staff are DBS checked. We have 5+ years of in-water experience and knowledge in beginner and advanced coaching methods.

All of our activities are regularly risk assessed to ensure customer safety. We also work closely alongside SLSGB and our local Gwithian Lifeguards on a daily basis and have an immaculate safety record.

Will the lesson be on if its raining?

Yes! Our lessons take place in the ocean so getting wet certainly won't be a problem.

What time do I need to arrive?

We ask that you allow 20 minutes to check in, meet your instructor and get into your kit.

Is there a minimum age for lesson participation?

Yes. All children under 10 years old will need to be accompanied for the duration of the lesson by a non-surfing adult. We recommend a minimum age of 6 for a full Surf Lesson -remember we provide all westsuit accessories free of charge!...

Thick 5/4 winter wetsuits, boots, gloves and hoods to make sure the younger ones can stay warm for the whole lesson!

I'm anxious and I'm not a strong swimmer.

We recommend a beginner lesson first because this will only take place in waist depth water and you will have an instructor with you the whole time.

If you cannot swim 50 meters then you will need to let a member of staff know prior to your lesson as this is a minimum requirement.

I don't want to book online.

Not a problem, just give us a call between 9am and 6pm, on 07361234699, and we will process your booking over the phone.

Where can I park?

Evolve Surf School is based in the Gwithian Council all day Car Park, we recommend bringing cash just in case the machines go down -its happened before! The Car Park fills up quickly in the summer seasons, despite being a large car park.

We recommend leaving plenty of time to allow for Parking. Morning lessons are much better for parking spaces, after 11:00AM in the full season, the Car Park fills up very quickly.

How many Surf Lessons would it take me to stand up?

There is no straight answer for this question, everyone is different. With that said 95% of our students are comfortably and confidently riding waves in their first session.

Being in the water with a surfboard is naturally exhilarating, so whether you're surfing, catching white water waves or learning along the way you're going to feel the love for the sport.

I have a physical impairment/learning difficulty/am deaf/or other impairment; can I participate in a Surf Lesson?

We love taking everyone surfing, the minimum requirement is that you can swim 50 meters. Granted you can, we can do the rest!

We’ve had deaf, limbless and many other impaired surfers in the past. Send your booking details to evolvesurfschool@gmail.com and we will do everything we can to get you booked in!

Do I need swimming goggles?

We don't encourage people to wear goggles during their surf lessons with us. We have taught surfers who go in the sea with contact lenses and have no problems. With all that said it's your call -whatever makes you feel most comfortable.

Do you have changing rooms?

Yes we have one changing room in our Surf Container. We reccomend bringing a warm changing towel or towel on the day to make changing more convientient if the changing room is full!
